A blog for Christian men "going their own way."

Whoa!

Not too long ago, I checked out my older blog and noticed a comment someone recently made about a post I did on an article at the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood's website. Essentially, it's an article that extols the virtues of singleness, counter to the kind of stuff Albert Mohler (who is, ironically, active with CMBW) has been saying recently. It seems the article is no longer available! Mysteriously gone from the archives. I don't know what's going on, but if this is an attempt by CMBW to scrub their history, then they are too late. Obi-Wan's failure is complete (see here and here).

Anakin,

I don't think the removal of the article has anything whatsoever to do with CBMW. Most of the radicals in Debbie Maken's movement are applying a lot of pressure on church leadership [of course, never allowing anyone to respond to them]. I think it is safe to say that the CBMW would be one of the easiest swayed of all. Consider this article from my own blog:

http://puritancalvinist.blogspot.com/2008/04/reports-of-death-of-gift-of-singleness.html

You know what Gortexgrrl did after being confronted with this information? Well, just read what she said on my blog. As my Hermeneutics professor always says, those that have hobby horses are oblivious to the facts.

It is possible [I would say even more likely] that one of these radical followers complained about the article, and it was removed. It is simply unbelievable the lengths to which these people will go, and, of course, they allow the opposing viewpoint to be heard the whole time they are doing this...well, no they do not. It is a sad commentary on the secretive nature of the radical form of this movement.

God Bless,
Adam
